About Us

Mission & Purpose

Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence and character,

who make the world a better place.

Jurisdiction

The council serves approximately 4,500 girl and adult members in

15 counties: Baxter, Benton, Boone, Carroll, Cleburne, Fulton, Izard,

Madison, Marion, Newton, Searcy, Sharp, Stone, Van Buren and

Washington.

Finance

The council is funded through annual product sales, United Ways of Benton, Washington and Boone Counties, and from annual giving contributions from parents and friends of Girl Scouts, corporate and foundation grants and program fees.

Product Programs

The annual Cookie Program is an important part of the Girl Scout Program. Although this program raises valuable funds for troops and council operations, its purpose is to teach girls basic business skills, give them confidence in their abilities and allow them to follow through on goals.

Friends of Girl Scouting

As a not-for-profit organization, Girl Scouts are dependent on donations for financial support. These contributions come from families, other individuals, the community, the United Ways, local businesses and foundations.

History

A 501(c) (3) (non-profit) organization, the Girl Scouts - Diamonds of Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas was established in 1958 and continues to serve girls ages 5-17 in the nationally chartered Girl Scout Program.

Council Shop

The council operates an official Girl Scout Equipment Agency in the Program/Service Center in Fayetteville where parents, volunteers, and friends of Girl Scouting may purchase uniforms, books and gift items.

Camp NOARK

Camp NOARK is available for rental by Service Units or Troops throughout the year.  The Friendship Lodge, Troop House and Chalet are available all year long, the Tent Units and Dining Hall are available during the late spring, all summer, and through early fall.  For information on what is available for Troops and Service Units to do while staying at Camp NOARK (including Service Projects) contact Karen Reid at (479) 695-1829 or kreid@girlscoutsdiamonds.org
