2009 Cookie Activity

Girl Scouts and cookies share a rich history and the activity of selling products is directly related to the Girl Scout purpose of developing strong leadership opportunities for girls. A tradition since 1917, the Girl Scout cookie program helps girls develop life long business and leadership skills and mirrors the new Girl Scout Leadership Experience; Discover, Connect and Take Action.

Through product sales girls practice life skills like goal setting, money management and teamwork. When people purchase Girl Scout cookies, they receive a great product and provide support for girls through their cookie purchase. All of the proceeds remain in the area where the products are sold. This revenue is used to benefit girls, some of it directly by remaining in the Girl Scout troop and some of it indirectly through council programs, activities and events.

Look for the next Girl Scout cookie activity in early 2009.
