Did you know you could be a
Girl Scout and not be part of a troop or group?
The Juliette program
provides an
opportunity for girls ages 5-17 to be a
Girl Scout without being a part of a troop or group. Juliettes
can participate in all the cool fun that Girl Scouts has to offer
while working on her own with a mentor of her choice. The
Juliette program is designed to fit her schedule.
Who can be a
Juliette Girl Scout?
Every girl in the NOARK
Council area has the option to register and participate as an
individually registered Girl Scout, or Juliette, without being
affiliated with a troop or group.
Why would I
want to be a Juliette Girl Scout?
Girls may opt to become a
Juliette for many reasons:
-
Her schedule will not allow time for troop
meetings.
-
There many not be a troop or group in her area
(or for her age/level).
-
Her troop or group has disbanded and she
doesn’t not want to join another.
-
She may want to participate in only one or two
Girl Scout activities a year, such as resident camp, a
council-sponsored event or to join a committee.
What can a
Juliette do?
-
A Juliette can do all of the same things as
Girl Scouts in troops
or groups on her own.
-
A Juliette wears a “Juliette” patch on her
uniform in place of troop or group numbers.
-
She receives all council mailings, which
provide information on program opportunities offered by the NOARK
council.
-
She can register for and attend council
sponsored programs and events designed for her age/grade level if
an adult attends with her.
-
Juliettes can earn Girl Scout awards – from
Try-Its, badges and interest patches to the Bronze, Silver and
Gold Awards.
How can I
become a Juliette?
Contact the council
office and speak with Lani Froelich, Juliette Coordinator (479)
695-1828 or by email:
Lani Froelich to discuss the Juliette option. You
will need to complete a registration form and pay $10 membership fee
if you have not already registered this Girl Scout year. Your adult
mentor may choose whether or not to also register and pay the $10
fee.*
*We welcome and encourage
parents and other mentors to join Girl Scouts. Registration as a
Girl Scout will ensure that you receive council publications and
feel more connected to the Girl Scout movement. |
