Adult Education and Training

Introduction

Helping girls grow, learn, achieve and have fun is what Girl Scouting is all about.  It is a well established fact that individuals who step-up to fill leadership roles in a troop/group are essential to the continuation of the Girl Scout movement.  We salute these individuals for their dedicated and committed service.  Experienced leaders know that good training and preparation makes successful leadership possible and helping leaders obtain the necessary tools they need to be successful is the purpose of the Adult Development Department.

FYI…

Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. (GSUSA) is currently working on major program changes that will be unveiled starting in 2008.  Adult Training and Education staff nationwide have been notified that training methods and modes will also undergo changes – as they should to keep up with the trends.  We are excited about the changes ahead and the new materials that will become available in the future.  Anyone unfamiliar with the wide-sweeping changes planned for the Girl Scout movement should follow the links provided on this Website about Council realignment and also visit the GSUSA official website.

Council Trainers

Volunteer trainers have always played a vital role in the cycle of adult education in Girl Scouting.  We are fortunate at the NOARK council to have a team of incredible, highly skilled volunteer trainers to assist the Adult Development department in its mission.  Without them the job could not be done!

Our Council Trainers and the Council Training Staff will cooperate with Service Unit Teams to identify the training needs of leaders and set-up training events for them.
